Every operator on this site has been opened, funded and cashed out of by a person on our team. This page says exactly what that involves, what the score is made of, and how we are paid — so you can decide how much weight to give it.
What we do before we write a word
- Open an account and complete the identity checks, as any new player would.
- Deposit our own money. We do not use accounts an operator has funded for us.
- Request a withdrawal and time it from request to arrival. That figure is published on the review.
- Read the bonus terms in full, including the wagering requirement, the maximum bet while wagering, and what happens to winnings above the cap.
- Check the licence number against the regulator's own register, rather than against the badge in the operator's footer.
- Contact support with a real question and record how long the answer took.
What goes into the score
One number out of five, made up of six things. The weights below are ours; change them to match what your readers actually care about, and say so here when you do.
- Payouts — 30%: how long a withdrawal took us, what it cost, and whether the stated limits held.
- Bonus terms — 20%: whether the offer on the front page survives contact with its own small print.
- Licensing and safety — 20%: who regulates it, what that regulator is worth, and what tools the operator gives you to limit yourself.
- Games — 15%: range, the studios behind it, and whether the return-to-player figures are published.
- Support — 10%: how long a real question took to answer, and whether the answer was any good.
- Banking — 5%: which methods work in your country, and which of them are quietly excluded from the bonus.
How often we check again
A review written last year is not evidence about this year. We re-test every operator at least every 90 days. Each review carries the date it was last checked and the name of the person who checked it, and anything we have not been back to in 180 days is marked as out of date on the page itself rather than quietly left to age.
Who does the testing
Reviews are signed. Every one names the person who wrote it and the person who did the testing, and both names link to a profile saying what they have done and how long they have been doing it. If a page here is not signed, it has not been tested.
How we make money
Some links on this site are tracked, and an operator pays us a commission when a reader opens an account through one. That is how the testing above is paid for.
It does not buy a score, a position in a table, or a review at all. Operators cannot pay to be listed, cannot see a review before it is published, and cannot have one changed. Where an operator pays more than another, it makes no difference to either — and if that ever stops being true, this paragraph will change before the reviews do.
